All I can suggest is keep going forward and keep bugging those temp agencies even though they aren't in the field you want. It still is looking for work. When going to businesses, ask if they are hiring and also ask what temp agency they use if they have no openings. They'll typically give you a card to call them and keep on it until they "politely" say "please just check with us every week instead of every day".
